Best Practice for Child Development : The necessity of nature connection; tools and treasures right outside your door
Come listen to birdsong at the beautiful and historic Lake Merritt Park, the first official bird sanctuary in the United States. This hands-on training will offer an opportunity to explore core routines of nature connection that are key to social-emotional learning, including listening for bird language. Learn powerful secrets from early childhood experts, including a nature-based Occupational Therapist and the Founder of the leading nature connection preschool in San Francisco. They will share tools for enhancing your school, community or family through mindful connection to the natural world. Whether your setting is rural, urban or suburban, participants of all ages can activate their neurobiology and awaken the senses. These routines are based on ancient wisdom and modern neuroscience, activating the highest developmental potential in all ages, anywhere, anytime. Note: This session is offsite and outdoors at Lake Merritt, which is a 30-minute walk from the hotel. Lyft rides will be provided both ways for those who do not wish to walk. A box lunch will be provided at Lake Merritt.
